Act 1. The contract
An international hotel signs a direct agreement with AlpinPro for high-altitude façade cleaning. No intermediaries. Advance payment received. We enter the site. Everything strictly by the safety book.
Act 2. Quantum shift.
Then the magic began. Anomalies from local safety inspectors:
- —A tragedy at a residential complex in Astana instantly blocks our work in Atyrau. Connection? Logic? None.
- —Documents from Almaty suddenly lose their validity in western Kazakhstan. Only «the right papers» from «the right people» will do.
- —Anchor line testing is suddenly demanded — something not stipulated in the contract.
Act 3. The invisibility trick
But the main trick we noticed later. While our people were officially present on site, another company managed to obtain an official letter of appreciation from the client for «completed work» at the same site and on the exact same dates. They had learned to work in a mode of complete invisibility?
The outcome
The international hotel management was very surprised by the local anomalies, apologised for the situation, signed off our completion act, and let us keep the advance payment.
It was a theatre of the absurd. Our answer, years later: AlpinPro works honestly. And to the local monopoly «guardians of the ropes» — we wish you good health. Safety is important, after all.
